New Proposals

  • The school proposes to utilize the water channel that runs alongside the periphery to treat its and other community sewage using water based bio-technological methods (See photo). The water body running alongside the northwestern boundary is proposed to be used. For this purpose, we have entered into a dialogue with various companies that are engaged in this technology.
  • The school proposes to extend the pre-heating of the boiler feed water to the kitchen boiler feed water also, through installation of a new solar heating system. This will be a good project since the kitchen serves approximately 2000 meals every day.
  • The school proposes to do away with conventional water heaters in the dormitories, and switch to solar water heaters exclusively.
  • The school has applied to the Meteorological Department of the Government of India to set up and run a weather station on campus.
  • The school will also run an ongoing water testing and monitoring program to test the water quality in its bore wells, and the sewage and effluent after treatment in the proposed treatment plant. This will be handled by the senior students, as part of their project based learning experience, and will form part of the Value Based Spiritual Education programme module on Environmental Morality.
  • The school proposes to fund many of these projects through a combination of own funds, augmented by grants and subsidies from government and non-government agencies and bodies.
