VALUE BASED SPIRITUAL EDUCATION (VBSE)

Value Based Spiritual Education (VBSE) is a driving force behind the life of Omega. We aim to incorporate an awareness of spiritual values into each activity which takes place in the school.

Omega has adopted Nava Ratnas (9 gems) of life, building on Core Values that UNESCO has drawn up. These are:

• Love & Compassion
• Sensitivity & Creativity
• Spirituality
• Peace & Justice
• Self Awareness/ Self-Management
• Environmental morality
• Citizenship
• Health and Nutrition

Each class has a weekly period dedicated to VBSE, and the curriculum aims to give the message of a balanced life: a life equally progressive and luminous in inner existence and outer existence. Subject teachers are encouraged to incorporate these values as part of the main curriculum as well as embodying them in their interactions with the students.

The students' day begins with Morning assembly and ends with Circle Time with their class teacher. This way students have a time for reflection both at the beginning and end of each day.

VBSE activities are creative, thought provoking and interactive and offer ideas for how the children can live the value in practice and find the answers from within themselves.
