Teacher's Quote

English is a wonderful subject where children can discover their own self expression as well as enjoyment of the written and spoken word. It is delightful to see the children develop and express their own opinions and experiences, as well as being enriched and enlivened by those they find in the literature they study.

ENGLISH

IGCSE English is a progressive curriculum asking the students to think for themselves about a wide variety of literature and content. Students study, analyse and critically review writing in a range of genre looking at both explicit and implicit meaning, separating fact from opinion and forming their own opinions on style, language and content of texts. They are encouraged to justify their points of view and express themselves with clarity and structure, using appropriate vocabulary and tone and developing their thinking through a range of genre and writing styles. A good grade at IGCSE English is accepted as evidence of proficiency in the English language at universities world-wide.
