ANNUAL DAY CELEBRATION – KG to 3
18th and 19th January 2011
The children and families of KG to Third Standard came together on the 18th and 19th January 2011 to celebrate Annual Day. A stage was built in the courtyard with cover provided for the audience, to shade them from the day's sun so their enjoyment was not marred in anyway.
Pre-KG and L-KG began the first of 3 incredible performances by the youngest members of our school. The lack of years did not deter them in anyway and they got the audience tapping their feet and clapping their hands with Rock and Roll inspired dances. The stage welcomed the children of U-KG and 1st Standard later on that same afternoon with a show titled ‘Shrishti' (The Creation). The final production came from the children of 2nd and 3rd Standard who wowed the audience with ‘Nrithya Sangmam', a blend of cultural dances from all over the world.
Chief Guests, each with a particular expertise relating to the performance they resided over, shared their thoughts and encouraged us with their words of wisdom. They reminded us that Annual day is a celebration of our schools vitality.
Each and every child was given the opportunity to exhibit their talents. Whole families came along to share their child's experience and the anticipation of the audience was palpable. All the children looked amazing in their costumes and make-up. Their loving parents had worked hard to make their child look the part.
Before and between each dance there was a well written introduction given by the children which added to the flow of the show. The Annual Days would not have happened if it was not for the hard work of our talented dance and music departments, and the class teachers who rehearsed with their children to ensure every step and move was perfected. Special thanks goes to Shilpa madam, Kumaresan sir and Garima madam for the choreography, and Vinita madam and Pratima madam for the music.
The programme was highly appreciated by every single person and indeed we are proud to have another feather to add to our cap of successful Annual Days. The students and teachers are congratulated for such flamboyant and fulfilling performances.
