Reporting at the school

 

  • Students are expected to report on the date notified to them by the school.
  • Flights, trains and other modes of transport should be so chosen as to enable the student to arrive at the school before 6.00 PM.
  • In the normal course, it is expected that the local guardian would convey the student to the school upon arrival at Chennai.
  • In case of need,  prior notice should be given to the school if the parents require pick up from the station or airport. Such notice should be provided at least 24 hours in advance of the time of arrival at the station or airport.
    The school undertakes no responsibility for not picking up students if adequate notice has not been provided.
  • Students will be charged Rs. 500.00 for each such transport. There will be an additional fee for pickups before 8.00 AM and after 8.00 PM of Rs. 500.00 over and above the normal charge.
 
Late Reporting

 

  • If for some reason, the student is unable to report to the school on the assigned date, the parent should intimate the school of the revised date of arrival well in advance in writing.
  • Late reporting will be counted as a 3 de-merit offence. (See section "De-merit System")
  • Any student reporting more than 15 days late will have to be re-admitted to the school, and will have t pay the re-admission fee.
 
Settling in

 

  • Each student will be assigned a particular bed with mattress, bed sheet and cover, pillow and pillowcase, mosquito net, wardrobe, bookshelf, study table etc.  This should not be exchanged for another without permission of the Warden concerned.
  • Students must hand over the medical certificate from their local doctor to the Doctor at the Medical Centre or to the Head Warden immediately upon arrival at the school.
  • Suitcases should be emptied and stored securely in the box room, under the supervision of the Warden.
  • Each student is allotted a specific bathroom. This is done to maximize utilization and to save time. Students are not permitted to use a bathroom other than the one allotted.
  • The wardrobes, bookshelf etc., should be properly secured and locked by students prior to leaving the dormitory every day.  
  • The school assumes no responsibility for any personal property found missing from the dormitory.  Neither does the school assume responsibility for any property damaged / destroyed by fire, water or any other form of natural disaster.
  • Students are expected to adhere to the hostel routine as well as to the instructions and guidance of the Hostel Warden.
  • Upon entering the dormitory, students may deposit with the Senior Warden such sums of money as have been given to them by their parents, for deposit in their personal bank account.
  • Students are NOT permitted to put up any posters/ photographs or other decorative material on the walls of the dormitory.
  • Students are NOT permitted to keep pets in the dormitory.
 
Personal Bank Account

 

  • A bank account in the student's name will be opened in Allahabad Bank, Manapakkam Branch by the Warden, and will be accessible by the student.
  • The bank account may be used for purchases from the Book Store and the Canteen, and for excursions and other purposes approved of by the parent/school.
