Medical care
- The school maintains a fully functional Medical Centre equipped to deal, on a 24 hour basis, with all normal situations, including minor cuts and bruises. There are duty doctors and nurses available 24/7, with specialist doctors on call, as needed.
- The Centre can also call upon the assistance of the Medical Centre at the Babuji Memorial Ashram if so needed.
- If a child develops fever in the hostel, the parents are informed on the first day. If the child still has fever on the 4th day, and needs investigations, the care of the child goes beyond the capacities defined in the objectives of the school's health room and the school will hand over custody of the child to the local guardian.
- In case of emergencies, and situations that the Centre is not equipped to deal with, the Senior Warden will notify the local guardian and the parents of the situation, and request that they authorize the school to move the student to hospital for further examination and treatment.
- To meet this eventuality, all boarders are required to bring the Emergency Medical Consent form at the beginning of every academic year, duly filled and signed by the parents. The school will do its best to notify the parent / local guardian of the estimated expense involved, upon which the necessary funds must be transferred within 24 hours.
- If the funds are not made available, the school reserves the right to withdraw from the situation, with no liability to itself.
- In all cases, the school will require the presence of the local guardian / parent at the hospital within 48 hours of admission of the child.
- In case of an outbreak of infectious diseases, the school will try its best to localize the outbreak by isolating the students who are affected.
- In extreme cases, the school will notify parents / local guardians to remove their wards for a period, to tide over the situation.
- During these instances, the school requires the full cooperation of the parents / local guardians.
- All common treatments available in the Medical Centre are given free of charge. All expenditure towards treatment prescribed by a specialist involving medicines that are not available in the Medical Centre will be debited to the student's personal bank account.
