Please read the calendar given to your child once he joins the school and familiarize yourself with the values, rules and regulations of the school.
Coming to school
Help your child to arrive in school well prepared – clean and dressed in his/her proper uniform, with all relevant study materials, and writing materials etc. When a student comes to school having completed his/her assignments and well prepared for his/her examinations, it increases their confidence at school.
Academic performances
Kindly take responsibility and be aware of your ward's progress in school.
- Ensure that your ward goes back home and reviews schoolwork on a regular basis.
- Assist your ward in completing all the assignments and studies and their co-operation is very much sought in completing the lessons missed while their ward was absent from school.
- Review the results of the Periodical Appraisal and encourage scope for improvement.(Classes III – XII)
Meeting teachers
- Parents are requested to check their ward's daily log each day for Parent –Teacher's communication or any remarks from teachers. The purpose of these remarks is to inform the parents of the events happening in their ward's school life. Parents are welcome to meet the teachers to discuss such matters further.
- Open days are organized regularly by the school. You are requested to attend these open days to receive your ward's Achievement Record and feedback from teachers. If for any reason you are unable to come on the "Open Day" you may authorize a family member through a letter to sign the record and meet the teachers.
Loss of working days
- Inclement weather: During rainy days or rough weather periods, it may be impossible for children to come to school. The school may remain closed on those days. However, this can be decided only on the morning of the day and no advance warning is possible. In the event of inclement weather, the Kindergarten classes will be cancelled. If the school needs to be closed due to inclement weather after the arrival of children, parents will be informed by the management to take their children home. Children who are not taken home by parents will leave at the regular time. When streets are slushy, students are encouraged to wear slippers or sandals instead of shoes.
- Additional Governmental Holidays: Holidays declared for all Educational Institutions in the city of Chennai by the state or central government on account of disturbing situations, strikes and mourning as notified by the media would be applicable to our school.
In events of closure of the school in extraordinary circumstances, the school may have to work on one or more Saturdays to compensate for the loss of working days. Attendance on all such Saturdays is mandatory. (VI-XI)
At home
- Encourage your ward to follow a regular schedule. Spending quality time with him/her, giving encouragement and positive feedback will definitely lift up your ward's spirit and thus help his/her progress.
- As the medium of instruction in the school is English, your ward will benefit if he or she is encouraged to speak English at home.
- Choose a selection of valuable TV programmes and restrict TV viewing to a maximum of half an hour a day. Spending more time on watching TV and playing electronic or computer games has negative effect on your ward. Instead, encourage activities such as physical exercise, art work, music and book reading. This will help your ward to become balanced, self motivated human beings.
