Apart from the Montessori methodology, Omega International School has chosen to include Psychomotricity Programmes in the KG activities in its effort to offer the best techniques of education.

Psychomotricity, like Physical Education, is education of the whole person through body movements. Psychomotricity improves body awareness, body image and emotional, symbolical and physical interactions of the individual in a social context.

From birth to the age of six, the brain continues to mature. Growth of nerve cells is directly related to the diversity of stimuli received by the child. Motor abilities such as balance, spatial orientation, laterality etc., take part in the development of the central nervous system.  The acquisition of fine motor skills starts with the mastery of gross motors skills and hence is acquired during movement.Psychomotricity improves perceptive and cognitive processes and thus facilitates other major school learning.

At Omega, KG teachers are trained in psychomotricity and offer to their class a series of selected exercises, rhythmic activities and games that have a great bearing on the eye-hand coordination that constitutes the basis of the writing process.
