National Cadet Corps (NCC) At Omega

Ncc cadets

As part of the Value Based Spiritual Education (VBSE) program on teamwork and leadership, it was decided to start the National Cadet Corps programme in the school. The NCC program was started in the year 2008 with 50 cadets in the Junior Division - Army Wing (Boys).

Our Junior Division cadets have had 160 hours of training spread over 2 years. The minimum age to join the Junior Division NCC is thirteen. During the years 2008 - 2010 our students have undergone this training and have attended three camps, two Combined Annual Training Camps (CATC) and one National Integration Camp (NIC). In 2010, as a result of the positive feedback from the NCC Directorate, the school received approval to start the Junior Division - Army Wing for girls also. This academic year 2010 – 2011, 22 boys and 22 girls are being trained and have attended the CATC camp in January 2011.
Mr.Vijayanth Yadav of Omega recently attended a 3-month training programme (Pre-Commission Course) at Kamptee – Nagpur at the Officers Training Academy. He has since successfully completed this course and is now a full-fledged A.N.O - Associate NCC Officer.
