• Kindly ensure that while recording, the karaoke or shruti is not louder than the vocals. Kindly add the lyrics as attachment to the given mail.

Music – Instruments

Carnatic instruments– Select any song based on the topic and play it accordingly, not exceeding 2.30-3 minutes
Western Instruments– Play any western piece/song not exceeding 2.30-3 minutes
Percussion Instruments – Play any Rhythm grove, in any particular time signature/talam put together to showcase your talent, not exceeding 2.30-3 minutes

• Instrumental students may select any song based on the topic and play it accordingly.

• The pre-set rhythm available in the keyboard can be used as karaoke.

• For instrumentals, kindly ensure that the instrument is tuned properly. Also ensure that while recording, the sound of the instrument is clear and free of background or any other sounds.

• Decent costume appropriate to the theme and clear backdrop is mandatory. Please do not use any technical effects for the background.

• Kindly ensure that while recording, the karaoke is not louder than the instrument.

• Create a jingle/ use jazzy language/offer to sell your product.

• Connect your theme with SDG 3 – Sustainable development Goals – Good health and well-being.

• Costume: Choose a descent & appropriate costume relevant to the topic.

• Time limit: 90 sec [ 1 – 1.5 min]

Topic – Mono Act

Mono-action is all about a performance that is done by a sole person or by a single individual.
The individual plays numerous roles in an alternate manner in the same scene, each with a new and changed version.

• Create a scenario/ story/script that highlights the value of senior citizens.

• Characterise each character clearly.by differentiating in voice, action and expressions.

• Mono act the created story.

• Costume: Choose a descent & appropriate costume relevant to the story/ characters of the story. Make up should be character appropriate.

• Time limit: 2 – 2.5 min]

Topic – Monologue

A long dramatic speech delivered by a single actor.

• Prepare a dramatic speech on women literacy/ trending pedagogical practices/ Imagining a world of 100% literacy etc.

• The dramatic delivery could a third-person narrative or first-person narrative.

• Connect your theme with SDG 4 – Sustainable Development Goal – Quality education.

• Costume: Choose a descent & appropriate costume relevant to the monologue. Make up should be character appropriate.

• Time limit: 2 – 2.5 min

• Mode of presentation: Upload a video in mp4 format adhering the time limit. Shoot in landscape.

Grade – 9

Topic – Mime

A theatrical technique of suggesting action, character, or emotion without words, using only gesture, expression, and movement.

• Weave a story or a few scenarios on ‘Non-violence’ and mime the same.

• You may have a voice-over depicting the scenario. (Optional)

• Use relevant background music/ sound effect according to the scenario. [Ensure copyright issue when you duplicate the music. Also credit the sources in the video.]

Judgement Criteria

• Each child is allowed to participate in ONLY ONE event

• The contestants should submit video recordings (audio not acceptable) to the email id provided. The videos should neither be edited, nor should have any effects added.

• Make sure that the quality of the video is good enough to review. Avoid distortion and disturbances in the video. Contestants may consider shooting the video in a plain background.

• If it exceeds the time limit, the applicant might be disqualified.

• We may need to have two rounds (preliminary and finals). This will depend on the number of entries. We will keep you posted on the details.

• Performance will be witnessed by all the students of grades 6, 7, 8 and 9 (across the streams).

• The video of the ‘Best Performer” will be uploaded on the school’s official website during the festivals. E- Certificates will be awarded to winners.

• IN case the video recording is not clear and as per the rules mentioned, judges have the right to disqualify your video performance
