The Uniform Corps

The Scouting movement was started in Omega on 15th of June, 2012, Cubs & Bulbuls on 8th April, 2013, and Bunny unit on 22nd February, 2013.

  • Since its inception at Omega in 2012, 71 Guides have received the Rajapuraskar award and 8 have received the Rashtrapathi award.

  • 102 Scouts have received the Rajapuraskar award and 6 have received the Rashtrapathi award.

  • 52 Bulbuls have received the State Chief Commissioner’s award, and 22 have received the Golden Arrow award.

  • 62 Cubs have received the State Chief Commissioner’s award.

  • 20 Cubs have received the Golden Arrow award.

  • Over the years, 164 JDA cadets and 62 JWA cadets have passed the “A” certificate examination.

  • Cadet Abhimanyu Singh of the first batch JDA passed the NDA and has since joined the Indian Army.

  • In 2015, student Deepthika of JWA was selected for the Republic Day Parade Launch Camp II.

  • In 2017, Sabareesan of JDA attended the Group Firing Competition at Madurai.

  • Our cadet Vignesh was selected for the All India Thal Sainik camp at Delhi, the only cadet selected from our 13th Tamil Nadu battalion. He bagged two gold medals at the event.

  • Over the years, our cadets have been felicitated and received many commendations from the Directorate.

  • During the academic year 2018-19, our NCC band was adjudged the “Best Band” in the Inter School Competition conducted by the Hindustan Int’l School, Chennai.

  • During the academic year 2018-19,, our school bagged the “Overall cultural banner” Trophy at the Cado Fiesta conducted by Dr. Ambedkar Law College, Chennai.

  • Prabhunarayanaswamy. T of class VIII – scouts has participated in quiz competition organised by UNICEF – Earth Champions on World Environment Day.

  • Harini Ananda of class VIII – guides has secured runner up in Paper Craft, has participated in mobile photography and drawing competition organised by The Southern Railway State Bharat Scouts & Guides.

  • Deepak Chandar. T of class X – scouts has successfully passed online quiz organised by Department of Collegiate Education (Government First Grade College) and received an E-Certificate, IQAC initiative conducted from rovers and rangers unit of the college.

  • Shreyas Chakraborthy of class VIII – scouts has successfully passed online quiz organised by Department of Collegiate Education (Government First Grade College) and received an E-Certificate, IQAC initiative conducted from rovers and rangers unit of the college. He has also participated in mobile photography competition organised by The Southern Railway State Bharat Scouts & Guides.

  • Sudeshna Raj of class VIII – guides has participated in quiz competition organised by UNICEF – Earth Champions on World Environment Day.

  • Abirami of class VIII – guides has participated in quiz competition organised by UNICEF – Earth Champions on World Environment Day.

  • Nihal of class VIII – scouts has participated in quiz competition organised by UNICEF – Earth Champions on World Environment Day.

  • Ranen Joseph Solomon of class IX – scouts has participated in drawing competition organisation by Sankalp Project he has also achieved various challenges Plastic Tide Turners Challenge, Health & Wellbeing Challenge, Environment & Sustainability Challenge, Digital Scouting & Guiding Challenge, Earth Hour Challenge #Dinner in the dark, #Game at Night. He has also uploaded 2 videos on creating awareness of novel corona virus. He has successfully passed online quiz organised by Department of Collegiate Education (Government First Grade College) and received an E-Certificate, IQAC initiative conducted from rovers and rangers unit of the college.

  • Sharmila.R (Facilitator) – WOOD BADGE is a scouting leadership programme and the related award for adult leadership in the programmes of Scouts Associations throughout the world. Wood badge courses aim to make Scouters better leaders by teaching advance leadership skills, and by creating a bond and commitment to the scout movement. Himalayan Wood Badge is the prestigious and highest training for the Scouters and Guiders, by which he/she is eligible to train for the Rastrapathi Award.
